The Unfortunate Thumb**
My ordinary school life is like a tape that keeps on rewinding. It starts playing as I wake up and then rewinds back as I drown to sleep. Everytime i enter the classroom, I can see that my classmates still look the same as how I saw them yersterday and our teachers are still doing the same routine of giving us loads of assignments.
As I went to school in a cold morning of January, I was expecting to encounter the same event that happened the other day. My classmates still did the same habit of making an assignment before the first subject and our teachers still kept on feeding us a lot of schoolwork that almost made us vomit.
Everything happened as how it was written in my scripted school life. But not until afternoon, something occurred that wasn't intentionally included in the script. My classmate, Charisse and I went to the Resource Room to pass our worksheets in biology. In our entry inside the room, I saw a stapler. I then thought of having my worksheets stapled so that it would look tidy. When I tried to test if the stapler can function well, I accidentally stapled my own thumb...uhem, yeah, I stapled my own thumb. Charisse was a bit taken aback. Slightly rattled, she no longer knew what to do next.
Two of my classmates, Roxanne and Lowi, got inside the resource room when I accidentally stapled my thumb. Just like Charisse, they also panicked. The three of them suggested to bring me in the clinic for it's the only place an injured student can ever think.
The journey to the clinic was not that easy for me. I knew it was just a small booboo. But breathing air in that moment was difficult especially when you're accompanied with classmates who acts as if i'm about to die.."HELLO...I'm bot a dying person!!" I said to myself.
The doctor was not around as we arrived in the clinic. So, it was the Nas who tried to get rid of the stucked staple wire in my thumb. The sight of the staple remover made me freak out. "No way!! You're not supposed to use it to me! Right?!" I shuddered in fear...
The incident made me realize that I still got some friends that I can lean on. Whether there's a special occasion or not, they're there prepared to help me stand in times I come across hurdles in life...
The pain in my thumb lasted for 3 days and it barely left a scar in it. The incident in that day was recorded in my mind. But it can no longer be rewinded. It was not just an ordinary day. It was unforgettable.... END...
(-The incident happened wen i was in 2nd year Highschool...
- Charisse was my seatmate at that time
- worksheets were a common stuff in our biology class
- Our beloved bio teacher was Mrs. Charito Quisaot )
